The Inspiration:
At the age of 35, David J. Kinman was diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer. During the initial surgery, the Kinman family learned the cancer had spread to his liver. Further operation on the liver was not an option. During this time, David and his wife Braedi were expecting their first child. Given only 9 months to live, he beat the odds and survived 2 years. Long enough to see the birth of his son, Cole. In spite of fighting with every ounce of his soul, David lost his battle to cancer on July 10, 2007. He was just 37. Throughout his battle David showed strength, dignity, and determination, and still provides inspiration to many today.
Early Detection is the Key!!
Early detection made all the difference for another David. 38-year-old David J. McCluskey made a visit to his doctor in 2007 shortly after noticing things weren’t “quite right.” Within 6 weeks of visiting his family physician, David underwent a colonoscopy. That decision saved his life. Collaborating with doctors and aggressively treating his colorectal cancer, David is now cancer free.
